Hey, friends!

This Thanksgiving was small but so full of love—and food, of course. Kai and I weren’t feeling great earlier in the week (I got sick on Monday), but by Thanksgiving Day, I was feeling a bit better and ready to dive into all the holiday fun.

I vlogged the day (you can check it out below!), but here’s a quick recap of how it all went down:

Starting the Day in the Kitchen 🍳

The morning kicked off with Lucero and Moris already in the kitchen cooking the turkey. The smell had me up and moving, so I joined them to help out. Between the four of us—Lucero, Moris, my dad, and me—we got everything prepped for our half of Thanksgiving lunch. We made turkey, rolls, mac and cheese, a charcuterie board, and a few other dishes. The kitchen was a little chaotic, but we pulled it off!

Thanksgiving Lunch at Tony’s 🏡

Around 1 PM, we packed everything up and headed to Tony’s house for lunch. It was so nice to be with family—Tony, Leslie, Elijah, Emma, my Tía Maritha, Tía Miriam, Tío Victor, and my cousin Jacob were all there. Everyone brought something to the table (literally). Leslie made ham and mashed potatoes, and Kai specifically asked for the salad I made last year, so I whipped it up again at Leslie’s house. Tío Victor loved it and definitely helped himself to a lot—honestly, that made my day!

Games, Old Videos, and a Coffee Fail 🎲📼☕

After lunch, we played some games and watched old family YouTube videos, which was so fun and nostalgic. Later, Kai started feeling super tired, so I walked him to his car for a little break. We decided to grab a coffee to wake him up, but we got to the gas station at 4:10, and it had just closed at 4. Oh well—he ended up dropping me back off at Tony’s, where everyone was watching The Hobbit.

Wrapping Up the Day 🏠

When things started winding down, we cleaned up and headed home. Lucero and Moris went to dinner with Moris’s dad, while my dad and I stayed in for a chill night. We thought about going to the theater to watch Moana or Wicked, but they were completely sold out. (Don’t worry—we’re planning to go today instead!)

To end the night, my dad and I stopped by Kai’s house to drop off some cookies I’d picked up for him. In typical Kai fashion, he sent me home with way more drinks and snacks than I brought. When we got back, my dad and I wrapped up the day watching Narnia: The lion, the witch & the wardrobe. I hadn't realized how great this movie is 10/10, HIGHLY recommend!

Today’s Plans 🎥

Since the theater didn’t work out yesterday, we’re planning to go today with the family, after Elijahs soccer game and I can’t wait. Thanksgiving might not have been super big or fancy this year, but it felt so warm and full of love—exactly what I needed.

Check out the vlog below to see how it all went down! There are 2 versions. One is filmed like a normal vlog and the other one was filmed on my camcorder! let me know which version you enjoy best!
