This trip was a well needed get away.

California was the perfect place to travel to for us, there wasn’t a major event like a concert to make the city super busy, the weather was a bit cold but perfect to start our autumn season, and we went with no agenda. It was super nice to not have to wake up super early while on vacation. We could sleep in or not, we really just did what felt best!

We started the trip with some good Korean BBQ at Gangnam Station, followed by a trip to the K-pop store near by. It was the perfect way to start our night because we were pretty hungry from the traveling. Like I mentioned before each we really had no plan for any of the days so we played it by ear and the next day we ate breakfast at Eggslut, visited Plasita Olvera, a outdoor market fulled with Mexican antiques, as well as ShibuyaLA, a shop FILLED with Asian skincare, hair care, ordeal care, make up, you name it! A dream spot for all of my k-beauty needs! I got some shampoos, conditioners, facemask and I got my hands of the viral TIRTIR foundation that I absolutely LOVE! I was in my happy place and we spend more time than we needed there, but hey! There was no agenda, right? That same day we really couldn’t find anything else to do, at one point we were gonna go to The Broad museum but we opted for some dinner at SilverLake instead followed by a good old fashioned Dodgers game! Interestingly enough, that same night was Hispanic heratige night and they had an amazing drone show! My Abuelito Carlos is a huge dodgers fan so I am happy I got to go to a Dodgers game at least once in my life. Oh! We also went to los callejones to fins us some fun dodgers gear and we found a sweet deal on some hoodies to take to the game! We wanted to represent but on a budget, lol.

The next day Ana & Diana convinced to go to Universal Studio Horror Night, which I wouldn’t have gone if Nintendo World wasn’t there but hey, I got cute Toad ears and photos out of it so, for what I went through dealing with the “Horror” part if it, I think was worth it. Essentially we were only gonna go visit the new Hello Kitty Cafe at city walk, which was super cute by the way, but I was sold by a free park ticket and the toad ears so in we went. The 1st half of the day was great, you know before night fall, we went on Harry Potter, visited Nintendo World, got on Jurassic World and have dinner. But when night fall came, we spent most of our time waiting in line, and me, well I spent most of my time avoiding the haunted houses. Although I did go into ghost busters which was pretty good! And the terror tram, but I was this close to not getting of the tram. I got spooked for a minute but between Ana and Diana I felt a little but more protected. It was a good time and honestly gave us something fun to do for the day. And I truly loved Nintendo World! It was so fun being emerged in Super Mario but honesty review of Bowsers Castle, the ride isn’t as good as how it looks. Ok, Nintendo world looks freaking amazing! But the ride wasn’t what I though it would be, and although they have cool features with the glasses and how the structure is build, our ride did break down of a good 2 minutes and the ride was super slow for my likening. Would I ride it again? Absolutely but not if I had to wait more than 90 minutes, I give it a 6/10. But I give Ninitendo world an 8/10, 8 because it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. But Universal absolutely CRUSHED it with the attention to detail and making you feel like you’ve stepped into the Mario Brothers world! Love. Love. Love!

The last day we were in Cali we visited the famous Erwhon, which wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be, as far as the grocery store part. The smoothies were pricey but we knew that going in so it didn’t surprise any of us. I got the Emma Chamberland Matcha drink and it was a 8/10. I would DEFINETLY buy it again! While Ana and Diana got the Hailey Bieber smoothie, which was very tasty as well. Diana left a day early so she only got to do Erwhon that day, but Ana and I had a calm day after dropping her off at the airport. We visited a random mall and got some cute ceramic bowls and chopstick holders. The last thing we did was eat at a famous Korean teopoki place. I can’t remember what its called but this place was incredibly SPICY, we got the lowest option and my mouth felt like it was going to fall off! But it was still super good! I would highly recommend, especially if you can handle spice.

This trip was one that I appreciated more after coming home. It was nice to travel without an Iternerary. And I Ana, Diana and I have traveled to much together that its so natural and the adventures we have are some that we can always come back to and reminisce.

Love, Rae
